It screams Mid Century Modern with its brass-like metal stand and axis, and allows anyone who gazed upon it to see the world as it was in the early 1960s. The USSR is intact, Yugoslavia was still a country, and Vietnam was divided. East Germany shows as a territory on this globe versus a country. This 12-inch Repogle Reference Globe was made in the United State, and was designed and edited by cartographer Gustav Bruekmann. Measures 16" wide and 16.5" tall including the stand and axis. In very good vintage condition overall, with some minor nicks and one longer scratch in the North Atlantic that are depicted in the photos. See less
