Aged black painted finish with yellow, red, blue, and green polka dots and tribal designs. Modern stylized shape with angular features. The Senufo prosperity bird is thought to represent the authority and leadership of the Poro Elders who initiate Junior Poro tribe members. These strong figures refer to both the physical and intellectual aspect of life. The long horn bill type beak protruding out and down to touch the suggested pregnant belly equals the dual life forces of male and female. Authentic piece from Western Africa. See less
