“Dr. Rodman Gilder Miller is a glassblower based in Seattle. He carries on the organic style of his great-grandfather, Louis Comfort Tiffany. Rodman Miller (PhD) is STILL a scientist, only now he experiments on glass. His Seattle studio is in Fremont, The Center Of The Universe, a place with no boundaries, & no immigration policy. He makes art glass for collectors, & architectural installations for private & commercial interests. His family history was definitely a big part in leading him see the beauty of glass. His great-grandfather was Louis Comfort Tiffany, & Rodman is the only Tiffany descendant working in glass today. Rodman has discovered how to use mica powder to create amazing lusters on his pieces, calling to mind the effects achieved by Tiffany, the most important difference being that mica powder is non-toxic. He also pioneered the technique of blowing glass onto copper pipe, which allows finials to be integrated with metal & other materials.” less
