This Pablo Picasso very rare vintage 1967 Mid Century Modern custom framed iconic Cubist fine art lithograph print " Les Demoiselles D'Avignon " 1907, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The Cubist lithograph print is published by The Museum of Modern Art, New York. printed in The Netherlands in 1967 in an unnumbered limited edition. It features an iconic artwork image originally created by Picasso in 1907 titled " Les Demoiselles D'Avignon ", The Museum of Modern Art, New York, acquired through The Lillie P. Bliss Bequest.

Pablo Picasso ( 1881 - 1973 ) was a Spanish born painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, poet and playwright who spent most of his life in France. He is regarded as one of the most important and influential artists of The Twentieth Century. Exceptionally prolific throughout the course of his long life, Picasso achieved universal renown and immense fortune for his revolutionary artistic accomplishments, and became one of the most well know figures in Twentieth Century Art.
The original artwork " Les Demoiselles D'Avignon " is a large oil painting created by Picasso in 1970. Held in the permanent collection of The Museum of Modern Art New York, it portrays five females in a brothel on Carrer D'Avinyo Street in Barcelona, Spain.
Les Demoiselles was revolutionary, controversial and led to widespread anger and disagreement, even amongst the painter's closet associates and friends. The artwork marks a radical break from traditional composition and perspective in painting. At the time of its first exhibition in 1916 at The Salon D'Antin, it was deemed immoral.
Painted in Picasso's studio in Montmartre, Paris in 1907 it would not be exhibited until 1916, and not widely recognized as a revolutionary masterpiece until the early 1920's. The painting had a profound influence on Modern Art, and was the provocation that lead to Cubism. Les Demoiselles D'Avignon is widely recognized as the most influential work of art of The Twentieth Century. It is said that Picasso changed history with this artwork.
The rare out of print framed fine art Cubist lithograph print measures 27" W X 29" H X 1 1/4" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern satin finish dark walnut stained museum box style wood frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
It is in excellent condition. The print is in excellent clean vintage condition consistent with age, light signs of handling and light minor surface wear.
