The vase is decorated with a finely drawn, blue and red, four clawed dragon cavorting in the sky amid blue and white clouds and red, Taoist flames above a band of roiling, blue and red, ocean waves and spume that encircles the foot. A blue, six character, Hongwu, reign mark is glazed to the shoulder of the vase. The finely carved, traditional, Chinese, hongmu stand is included. Circa early Republic of China era.
