Crain formed Native Wood Products, a wood manufacturing company. For many years the factory specialized in turned and shaped bowls made from regional black walnut, cut in and around Christian County, Missouri. Walnut logs were first sawn to make blanks. All wood was air-dried and then run through the kiln to bring moisture down to about 8 percent. Thoroughly seasoned and dried wood is essential to obtain a smoothly turned or routed surface. You can own a piece of this history, hailing from the 1960's! We were pleased to find this ultra rare set of 11 pieces: 1 large bowl, 8 medium sized serving bowls, 1 large serving spoon, and 1 large serving fork. This hand turned and hand finished set is perfect for serving salad, fruit, or any meal you love to cook up...in mid century style! The undersides of the bowls have their original silver foil stickers which read, "OZARK WALNUTWARE, NATIVE WOOD PRODUCTS INC, OZARD - - MISSOURI".
