Angure Ka Patta" means "leaf of the grape" in Hindi, which is the main design of the carvings on the screen. The Punjabi designs originate from The northern part of India in the mid to lower range of the Himalayas. The Punjabi artisans, particularly the carvers of that area, are some of the finest in all India. My friend Dalip Kumar brought this screen with him when he moved to America to be a Diplomat in the Indian Embassy in Washington D. C. less
