This Really is an Absolutely Beautiful - Very Fine Quality Antique Traditional English "Tantalus". Circa Late 19th Century. It is Completely Hand Made of of Solid Oak. It Still Retains its Original Varnish that is in Excellent Condition and has Developed a Wonderful Natural Aged Color and Patina. It Comes with its 3 Perfectly Matching - All Original To the Tantalus Liquor Decanters. Each Decanter is Custom Made - Hand Blown out of Heavy Crystal with Artistically All Hand Cut - Ground and Polished Decorated Features. NOTE Also That The Top Stoppers are 100% Original and Each has Been Individually Ground and Fitted to the Bottle Spouts so as to Create Perfect Seal. This can be Confirmed Because Each Bottle and Stopper Has a Small Surface Etched 2 Digit Matching Number - One on the Stopper and One Near the Top Rim Below the Spout. It has and assortment of Fine Quality Nickel Silver Metal Mounts that Includes a Beautifully Designed & Substantially Solid Cast Combination Locking Mechanism and Top Carry Handle. NOTE That it Does Not Come With a Key so The Locking Mechanism is Not Functional At This Time. Fortunately However It is Presently in The Unlocked Position So The Decanters Can Be Removed for Use and Reinserted When Not. The Bottles Can Be Slanted and Lifted Out or Reinserted From Either Side. The Top of The Locking Mechanism Is Embossed With The Makers Name - "FENTON BROS SHEFFIELD" and "STANAFORTH'S PATENT". Nickel Silver is a Very Durable Hard and Heavy White Metal that was Only Used by the Best Producers. It is in Very Good Overall Original Condition and it Displays Beautifully. Imperfections Noted - The Bottles and Stoppers Have Some Very Small Surface Chips Here and There From Normal Use Over the Years but Nothing Serious. They Have No Cracks and They are Perfectly Usable.
NOTE - That It is Quite Heavy in its Entirety Weighing Over 11 Pounds!.
