This Andy Warhol Estate rare vintage 1989 collector's iconic Pop Art offset lithograph print " Marilyn " 1964, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The rare vintage Pop Art print is published by Te Neues Publishing Co., in cooperation with The Estate & The Andy Warhol Foundation for Visual Arts, printed in Germany in 1989. It features an iconic artwork image originally created by Warhol i n 1964 titled " Marilyn ".
This is a rare opportunity for true Warhol fans and collectors as this coveted image Pop Art print is long out of print and very scarce to find. The official " AW " Foundation seal of authenticity is printed on the print in the lower right bottom corner.
Andy Warhol ( 1928 - 1987 ) is one of the singularly most well known Contemporary artists of all time. His imagery is recognized worldwide. His infamous life, artworks, and creative endeavors are like no other artist. He is credited as the very first artist to use common everyday objects and view them in a completely different way while paying homage to their role in our society. Glorifying the common as the beautiful. His technique utilizing a silkscreen method combined with hand finishing in a signature palette of vibrant color hues make the work stand on its own and loved by millions.
Warhol's " Marilyn " 1964, is from one of the artists most sought after acclaimed portfolio series. This Pop Art portrait is feminine, bold, and iconic. The image based on Gene Korman's photograph of the starlet, a promotional photo for the 1953 film noir Niagra. The bold coloration of the artwork recalls the saturated hues of the technicolor world in which Marilyn Monroe's career skyrocketed. The result is an inspiring exploration of the symbol of Marilyn Monroe as a Pop icon and cultural figure.
The rare out of print collector's Pop Art print is printed on high quality smooth finish paper stock. It measures 12" W X 16" H.
