This Really is an Exceptionally Nice - Very Rare and Important Large - Oversize Antique American Copper & Brass Tea Kettle. It is Embossed - Signed DUPARQUET - NEW YORK - 112 WEST 22ND STREET. My Research Confirms that That This Particular "DUPARQUET N.Y. 112W. 22ND ST." Mark Was in Use From Approx. 1916 to 1936 When The Company Went Out of Business as a Result of the Great Depression. The Original Duparquet Pieces ( Pre 1936 ) Are Considered By Cooks and Professional Chefs To Be The Finest Copper Cookware Items Ever Produced. They are Still to this Day Highly Sought After and Collected. This Very Large - Oversize Kettle is Also a Rarity Unto Itself. I have Done Extensive Research and I Cannot Find Another Example of Any Other Tea Kettles That Were Produced by Duparquet - Possibly a Special Order Piece?. It is Beautifully and Substantially All Hand Made with Wonderful Attention to Detail and Functionality ( Weighing Over 6 1/2 Pounds ). It is Primarily Made Out of Heavy Gauge Solid Copper with Solid Cast Brass Swing Handle Mounts and Lid Finial. It has a Lathe Turned Hardwood Handle with a Natural - Bare Wood Finish ( No Varnish ). Condition - It Appears to Have Been Professionally Polished and Possibly Sealed and Preserved with Metal Lacquer at Some Point in The Past. It has No Repairs and No Obvious Damage However You Might Find a Few Very Tiny Surface Dents & Dings. It is Tarnished in Some Areas Etc.
