The brooch depicts a sculpted 18k gold squirrel wearing a green and white guilloché enamel sweater and red shorts. The tail is highlighted with over one carat of brilliant diamonds.
This piece is marked ITALY ML 18k, but is identical to the one designed by Donald Claflin.
This piece is IN THE STYLE of Donald Claflin. Donald Claflin was one of the great innovators in 20th century jewelry. He was a genius at creating designs that were at the same time whimsical and precious. Most of his pieces were executed by the firm of Carven French exclusively for Tiffany & Co.
