This Really is an Exceptionally Nice Large Size Antique American Copper & Brass Tea Kettle. Circa Late 19th Century. It is Completely and Beautifully Hand Made - Hand Wrought out of Thick - Heavy Gauge Solid Copper. The Lid has a Solid Cast Brass Finial - Knob and Lower Ring. It is Quite Heavy with a Substantial Weight of Approx. 4 1/2 Pounds. Note That as The Design of The Lower Section Indicates it was Made to be Used on a Old Style Cast Iron Wood Burning Cooks Stove. These Types of Stoves had Round Removable Top Burner Panels and The Lower Section was Then Set In to the Hole so When it was in Use Would Not Be Visible. This was a Functional Design as it Concentrated the Heating and Allowed The Water to Heat Faster and More Efficiently. It is in Very Nice Overall Cosmetic Condition - No Damage - Still Usable. It Appears to Have Been Professionally Polished at Some Point in The Past and Displays Very Nicely. It has Since However Developed a Few Tarnish Spots Here and There.
