C.1935-50's; A Hollywood Regency era, very rare, tall, large and heavy, original Ugo Zaccagnini, Italian, terra cotta Asian Figure, in … more C.1935-50's; A Hollywood Regency era, very rare, tall, large and heavy, original Ugo Zaccagnini, Italian, terra cotta Asian Figure, in a sculptural presence, most likely a spiritual advisor, or wise diety, in a luscious, crackled brilliant peacock blue glazed body finish, with black matte scratch coat or incised details throughout, to hair, feet, facial details, and interspersed within and around the crackled finish. It is cemented within the Hollywood Regency era, and early into the Mid-Century period, yet can be inclusive within a Chinese, Japanese, Asian chinoiserie array and diorama, but selectively distinctive onto itself. These pieces were made exclusively, for the higher end market, in exclusive department stores, for domestic and imports market, such as Gump's, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus Store's exclusively for them, in the U.S., with limited edition production.

Elements strongly lend themselves to the well-known House of Bitossi ceramic factory. Marked on the underside, country of provenance, Italy with the artist's signature, next to country origin, the ceramicists signature, easily identifiable with the letter "Z," with a squiggle thru the center, in addition to a numbered production identification of, A1819.
