An amusing vintage etching titled “Fete Champetre” by French artist Jacques Villon. Villon's background as a caricaturist is quickly evident in this ironical original. The great master has taken a village official and presented him in both his grandeur and pomposity. Born in Normandy in 1875, Villon's family of artists is well known. Active in both the cubist and later abstract groups in the school of Paris, his works may be viewed in every major museum in the world. Authentication - Societe de Verification de la Nouvelle Gravure Internationale of New York and Paris certifies and warrants that this is an orginal etching by Jacques Villon.
