Description: Hand-carved roadrunner c.1930s. The wood carving features arms that will spin on a windy day and have Native American symbols … more Hand-carved roadrunner c.1930s. The wood carving features arms that will spin on a windy day and have Native American symbols burnt into them. We love the aged patina/oxidation of the wood! There is a nut and screw holding the arms to the body of the roadrunner; which an old replacement. This nut/screw allows for you to tighten the arms so they can be held open in any position. It also allows you to put the arms flat against the body for storage. In the photographs you can see where the original connection was located. On the back of the piece one arm says "Belongs to Kenneth Evan". The body, on the back says, "A boy 9 years old" and the other arm has writing but so faint we cannot make it out. The writing is in pencil and was difficult to capture clearly in the photographs. This is a wonderful piece of folk art and would make an interesting piece to add to your collection or display as a conversation piece.
