Housed in a brooch ready gilded copper frame.

The sitter has a red shawl wrapped around the front of her body. She has a ringlet hairdo and wears a tortoise shell hair comb topped with pearls. Her diamond earrings and gold brooch finish off her outfit.

The portrait is finely painted, one of the best in our collection. We are unsure of the material it's painted on, as we have not removed this from the frame. The frame has a pin on the back so this can be worn as a brooch.

The overall dimensions are 1.75 x 2.

The miniature is in very good condition. We are amazed at such fine detail in such a small painting. Clearly done by a steady hand.
