A captivating and well-balanced interior still life composition, executed in oil onto canvas.

Upon first glance, a vase of striking red tulips in the foreground captures our attention. Our eyes are then guided to a red ceramic jug in the middle ground, followed by a dresser in the background. There is a strong focus of attention on the objects as their bold colours stand out in contrast to the background painted in light cream, grey, sand, and blue tones.

The painting has an uplifting quality, brought forth through the use of rich colours and expressive brushstrokes.

This oil on canvas is housed in a well suited gilt frame with an inner hessian window. Both the painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition. See less
