Pretty Italian mid-century vanity console table with mirror. Circa 1950s. The mirror has a gilt metal frame, surrounding a beveled mirror plate, over a demilune console table with a slightly translucent marble top, rosewood apron, contrasting chatoyant maple drawer front, rising on three ebonized tapered legs, joined by a sculptural cross stretcher, ending in gilt metal feet.
This console table is daintily proportioned and harmoniously detailed. It's modern without being sterile and features delightful one-off decorative cast brass elements throughout.
It has been fully structurally restored by an antique furniture restorer, who left some of the existing patina intact. Metal hoops are inset into the back of the mirror and table to allow secure fastening to your wall. The original mirror silvering has some slight losses. The marble top is detachable from the table for transport and installation.
The table top is 32.75" high.
Provenance: previous owner purchased while traveling through Italy.
