This exceptional vintage, solid brass tray table is painstakingly hand-pierced and hand-carved. The tray is very heavy yet fits effortlessly on the 6-points of hand-carved black lacquered wooden legs. Four circular wooden discs connect the bamboo-designed legs at the top and bottom, allowing the table to fold easily when not in use. The inscription on the wooden discs may say, "fortune".
The tray has spectacular designs of Japanese soldiers on horseback along with settings involving music and contemplation. Botanical designs with lotus, bamboo, and other flowers are throughout the design.
Most importantly, the solid brass tray was only cleaned with a damp cloth. The finish has gradually developed a rich patina over the course of many years due to the oxidization process.
Assembled, the tray and table are 39.5" W, 24.5" D, and 21.5" H. The tray has an approximate 1" height difference between the bottom of the tray and the lip, which is approximately 3.5" wide. A lovely bamboo design adorns the rim.
