Bradley & Hubbard Manufacturing Company was founded in Meriden, Connecticut in 1852. The company originally produced doorbells, door knockers, and hinges, but soon began manufacturing brass lamps, chandeliers, and other metal lighting fixtures. Bradley & Hubbard became renowned for their high-quality cast-brass fixtures in revival styles popular in the Victorian era, such as Gothic Revival, Renaissance Revival, and Moorish Revival. Their products incorporated elaborate and ornate designs with artistic craftsmanship. Bradley & Hubbard exhibited their wares at major world's fairs, winning several awards, and installed lighting in notable buildings like state capitol buildings and luxurious hotels. The company remained in business until the mid-20th century, leaving behind a lasting legacy of beautiful historic lighting fixtures that are still prized today. less
