- A vintage Ethiopian Olive Wood and Porcupine round lidded box, probably dating from the 60’s, the beautifully-grained wood fitted on … more A vintage Ethiopian Olive Wood and Porcupine round lidded box, probably dating from the 60’s, the beautifully-grained wood fitted on the lid and sides with brown and white porcupine quills. The box retains its original label on the underside and the original flyer from the Olive Wood & African Curio Shop in Eritrea, Ethiopia is included. It looks like the box may have experienced some minor sun fading with age but otherwise, it is in perfect condition. I’ve handled many Anglo-Indian versions of quill boxes, but never an African example. Quite beautiful in its simplicity. less
