Historical 1920s original large framed skeletal study chart on woven paper, signed by Dr. Josef Rejsek, Prague. Very decorative old world piece with state of the art framing.
Bio:
Dr. Josef (1882 - 1936)was a Czech physician-surgeon and urologist. During the First World War, he practiced surgery with prof. Otakar Kukuly and on the Italian battlefield. In 1921, he completed an internship in France and focused on urology; after 1931, he was the first head of the urology department at the hospital in Bulovka, then the only one of its kind in Czechoslovakia. He published 27 professional articles. He had wide cultural and sporting interests. He was appreciated as an excellent operator and sought-after teacher. He died tragically in a car accident.
