Description: A vintage; c.1950s, Italian Murano, hand blown, very thick and heavy Archimede Seguso standing dog, in a quasi clown like … more A vintage; c.1950s, Italian Murano, hand blown, very thick and heavy Archimede Seguso standing dog, in a quasi clown like glee. This sculpture has vibrant colorations of; bright blue, or aquamarine blue, with red, white and clear, thick floppy ears, a reverent and innocent facial expression, with an accentuated, upturned nose, a crinkled red collar, in addition to a curled, hand applied clear tail, with original maker's sticker still affixed near the backside, by the tail. Type has worn off over the years. Depending upon how one turns this piece, the facial colorations take on more of red hue, due to the clear face and red floppy ears, or clear face with red eyes outer rimmed with a white layer. Lastly there is a polished pontil base, and opening, in which this thick Murano was needed in the process of making this piece, to not expand and explode,. Most beautiful is the thick and heavy, undulating, body, encased in that vibrant blue, flaring from the collared neck area to the voluminous body, with an exquisite dimpled front center to denote legs, or stance pose.
