This is heavy and well constructed and looks to have its original upholstery, which I think might be a mohair. Note the large wood pieces from which the seat is constructed. The legs are metal; probably cast iron. They are the cool factor - winged sphinx-like figures tapering down to ball and claw type feet. The gold paint which was likely to make it look like brass (or Egyptian gold!) is worn off in many places. This bench is tall so it would be great seating in any room. A very cool and unusual piece in it original condition. Hard to find. See less
