Ironically, the product is a highly respected Italian brand, the company being … more Mid-century advertising ashtray for Martini & Rossi Vermouth. Ironically, the product is a highly respected Italian brand, the company being founded in 1863 at Pessione in northern Italy, yet this milk glass ashtray was fabricated in France. The iconic logo displayed on each of the 3 faces was designed in 1925 in the "ball & bar style" by Livio Cibrario which, until 1995, remained essentially unchanged except for a brief period during WWII when the color scheme was switched to blue and green. A fascinating history for a brand known around the world. Marks on underside: "Lodi" and "Made in Italy".
