The Continental European design is large enough to hold a magnum-sized bottle of wine. The ice bucket dates to the early 20th century and was manufactured by WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik) of Germany in the Jugendsti (or youth) style, the Continental European iteration of Art Nouveau design characterized by whiplash and natural motifs. The art metal vessel rests on a pierced circular base of cast brass connecting four spreading feet. The handles are also cast brass and riveted to either side of the body under the upper rim.

Good antique condition with a darkened outer patina which includes spots and patches of verdigris and a few scuffs/scratches. The interior shows more evidence of age and use with darkened metal and layers of verdigris, typically the result of exposure to moisture. The design measures 9.88 in height x 12.75 in. wide (handle to handle) and is large enough to hold a magnum sized bottle of wine.
