The base of the pitcher has a curved line that happened during its manufacture, so I have read. It is not a scratch or crack. It does have 2 small black spots beside the top of the handle to the left and right, this probably happened during its manufacture process, since I could not remove them. They really do not detract from this gorgeous pitcher, just wanted you to know. (These black spots are shown in the photographs.) There are mini air bubbles that are visible in this pitcher, which is natural. less
