Prior to World War II, the top-of the line typewriter ribbons were made from silk, which dates this tin to circa 1930s or earlier.

The small round tin has a vivid orange, black, gold lithograph with a butterfly and stylized trees. The vintage tin is in good condition showing light wear consistent with age and use.
