A scarce antique British Colonial brass-mounted wood bucket (fireplace coal hod - kindling bin - pail - outdoor planter) circa 1820
Hand-crafted in India during the British East India Company rule on the Indian subcontinent (pre-British Raj period) in the early 19th century, having a ribbed hollowed log wooden frame, with heavily patinated brass strapping, decorated with applied repousse animal motifs at sides, dual ring handles, attractive heavily worn distressed patina over the whole.

Condition:
Good original unrestored antique condition with beautifully aged warm rustic heavily worn patina. Wear consistent with age and indicative of use, including age related splits to wood at sides and bottom, some loss and separation to metal, one handle with old primitive repair. Highly desirable original heavily patinated finish.
