Beautiful English Wedgwood Jasperware covered jewelry, keepsake or trinket box in Wedgwood pale blue and antique white.
Features a repeating motif in high relief of Canadian Maple leaves all around and the Coat of Arms of Canada in the Center.
Upon a royal helmet, a lion passant guardant or imperially crowned proper and holding in the dexter paw a maple leaf gules. Latin Motto: A MARI USQUE AD MARE, from Sea to Sea.
Jasperware or Jasper ware is a type of pottery first developed by Josiah Wedgwood in the 1770s. Jasperware is usually described as stoneware, with an unglazed matte “biscuit” finish. Josiah Wedgwood is credited with industrializing the manufacture of pottery.
Marked at the Base and stamped: Coat of Arms CANADA, Special Limited Edition, Wedgwood, made in England.
