Wonderful panels … Read more Amazing Regency period bottle green fancy painted settee made in England at the beginning of the 19th century. Wonderful panels decorated in grisaille with rich original gilt accents. Painted surface original with some wear. We will replace the canning if you wish at our expense. Some experts we consulted suggested that this looked like a piece from New York. Unfortunately the frame was identified as beech wood and English and American Beech are identical under a microscope. The piece does not have a cushion. At the moment the canning is backed by canvas. This is an exceedingly rare collectors piece. Provenance available to new owner. See less
