Created in Japan during the 19th century, this porcelain plate features a delicate blue and white décor depicting a perfectly balanced scene: foliage, flowers and branches occupy the center of the composition at the bottom, while on the left, an elegant blooming tree seems to be extending its delicate presence to protect two small butterflies that are flying below. The scalloped edge is adorned with a simple décor made of style like feathers placed in alternating directions. The back is accented with blue highlights with discreet foliage motifs.
