While you can frequently find original painted Swedish trunks, it is difficult to find a cabinet or sideboard with exceptional original folk art paint such as this one.
The two panel doors are painted with a traditional floral/vase motif against a soft blue background (which will take on a darker hue in settings with less light).
The double monogram and date of 1843 indicate it was likely a very special wedding present for a young couple. It never had pulls and the old lock was removed years ago, so presently you open the door simply at the edge.
