Description: Pair of small risers in burnished bronze and yellow Siena marble, Italy first quarter 19th century. Oval marble plinth base, … more Pair of small risers in burnished bronze and yellow Siena marble, Italy first quarter 19th century. Oval marble plinth base, embellished with shell and beaded friezes in the lower section and with a pair of festoons composed of leaves, lake reeds, and four valves arranged in a rosette pattern, one of which is partly missing. Upper section basement with bronze plaque simulating sea ripples, from which rises an all-round sculpture depicting a bicaudate winged mermaid, characterized by a "crown" of seaweed and raised arms, the latter holding a large shell with a segmented profile placed on top. One of the bronzes surrounding the plinth is partially missing. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
