This is an original extendable metal wall lamp, scissor sconce, designed by famous Bauhaus school metal workshop foreman Christian Dell in 1933 for Kaiser-Idell. This large version has an off-white enameled paint metal and chromed screws. The lamp is branded with the original paper sticker on the metal wall plate and the hanging tag on the lampshade (please check all close-ups).
Its wall-mounted design and expandable/retractable arm make it the perfect light for a reading nook or by the bedside.
A simple industrial design shows perfectly the idea of "form follows function." An elegant construction, very well designed with the patented Christian Dell ball joint, which offers the best flexibility for the lampshade to direct the light in several directions.
Good condition, with original wiring (tested and in working condition) but will probably need to be rewired. Minor wear and only very few micro scratches on the shade.
Measurements: Length from approximately 17.75 in. (45 cm) up to 43.25 in. (110 cm), shade diameter is 7.50 in. (19 cm).
