Tile collectors familiar with the U.S. Encaustic Tile Company know that through the years, they have always been synonymous with detail and quality. In business from 1877 through 1932, crisp detail, stylized patterns, and unique subject matter have always been a hallmark of their artisan's creations.
This wonderful example is a warm and earthy representation of what seemingly is a stylized floral display that has a very crest-like motif. Fired with a tan background, brown glaze is utilized to highlight the visual elements.
The back is incised with the company name and location of origin. It is in good condition and would make a great display be it framed or free-standing or simply as a cherished addition to your art tile collection.
