Salterini, Brown Jordan, Meadowcraft are a few of the companies that jumped on the popularity trend that the Briarwood chair that the Woodard chair ignited. This version like its inspiration incorporates metal mesh for the seat and the seatback. It also has a two ringed collar but unlike others which have a floral or foliage element added this version is more streamlined and unadorned and held together simply with a metal tab firmly at its center crown.. The arms on this chair are what set it apart from others in its category. This barrel shaped back version from the O W Lee Furniture Company is from the "Artisan" collection and its the swooping arms that have two swirling end points that display within the open sides sets this chair apart from the others. This version is even more specific as we cannot locate its exact replica because of the flat arm rest that this chair has. Consider adding this chair to your own group of barrel back grid lined patio chairs to complete or extend your set. The variation will be overlooked by 99% of those who see it. The chair is estimated to hail from the 1960's. It's currently finished in a satin hunter green tone. This style is as popular today, as it was when it first became a trend in the 1950's. less
