The old rustic canister could be used as a decor accent on a shelf or console table and could also be used to stash small items out of sight.

This is a very old circa 1800s metal container showing wear consistent with its age and use including a patina to the metal. The primitive antique metalwork pot has a secure lid and nice heft to it.
