This is a typical wine table with slightly recessed legs supported by an open apron with scroll spandrels. Age is difficult to determine, over 200 years is not a unreasonable guess. The reason why this is called a wine table is because this is the type of table often seen in Chinese vernacular paintings where people sat around and drank wine around this type of table. It is also likely this table was used in an outdoor restaurant - thus resulting in the prolonged weathered condition. used From Shanxi Province, North Central China.
