This Helen Frankenthaler rare vintage 1996 Abstract Expressionist limited edition large hand pulled silkscreen serigraph print " Westwind " 1994, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
Published by The Paris Review, printed in 1996 by Brand X Editions on extra thick heavyweight archival cotton paper stock with vibrant ink colors in a matte finish. The rare hand pulled silkscreen serigraph print was printed in a limited edition of 800, plate signed by the artist and unnumbered. The print features an artwork image originally created by Frankenthaler in 1994 titled " Westwind ".
Helen Frankenthaler ( 1928 - 2011 ) is an American Abstract Expressionist painter of a liberal Jewish background, and is a major contributor to the history of Postwar Modernist painting. She exhibited her work for over six decades, spanning several generations of Abstract painters while continuing to produce vital and ever changing new art works.
Her work has been the subject of several major retrospective exhibitions including The Museum of Modern Art New York, The Whitney Museum of American Art, The Jewish Museum, and The Los Angeles County Museum of Art. She has been exhibited worldwide since the 1950's, and was awarded The National Medal of the Arts in 2001. Artworks by Frankenthaler are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.
