- This Italian Florentine pepper mill or grinder is a bright and happy green color (In real life it is greener … more This Italian Florentine pepper mill or grinder is a bright and happy green color (In real life it is greener than the photos.). The green is a mat finish as is the gold above and below it which is making me think it over paint because the Florentine I've seen is shinier but is is bright and cheery just the same. There is some paint loss especially on the bottom edge of the top but the grinder works fine. The mill is 9 inches to the top of the finial and the base is 2 1/4 inches in diameter. less
