Intended to exhibit the crown of the bride the day after the wedding, the bridal globe was a popular custom from the 1840s to 1920. It is not only an object relating to a memory of this happy day but it symbolizes the wishes of the bride and groom through a multitude of ornaments to precise or even coded meaning. This beautiful object is intended to evolve throughout the life of the couple, so that by observing the richness and delicacy of the content of a globe, we will discover the life of those who have enriched it over time \. Small mirrors to protect from bad fate or promise fertility according to their shape, orange blossoms or oak leaf symbol of virginity or loyalty, wreath of wheat promising prosperity, fan evoking commitment, dove bringing peace and 'Love, Faute Bits celebrating a birth, a union, a death \. These objects from another time are moving poetry. The bridal globe will reveal many things to the one who will be able to observe it with tenderness and curiosity.
The globe is old and dates from the 19th century. The base is oval, in blackened wood, of Napoleon III style. The very fine blown glass globe is in perfect condition. Inside, a superb crown with a multitude of chosen satin flowers and a flowery porcelain cut in golden border. In very good condition. The room is large, superb.
