Circa Late 19th Century. … more This Truly is an Exceptionally Nice Example of an Original Antique American Country Primitive Fruit Basket. Circa Late 19th Century. It has 2 Finely Made & Carved Steam Bent Carry Handles Incorporated in to the Design and Weave. It is Completely Hand Woven - Hand Made out of Heavy Gauge Indigenous Brown Ash Wood and was Designed to be Durable. It would have to have been Made by an Experienced Weaver as The Fine Detail in the Making - Workmanship Would Indicate. Based on my Experience I Believe that it Most Likely Comes From the Upstate New York Region. It has Developed a Wonderful Color with Naturally Aged Patina Over the Years that Cannot be Duplicated. It is in Very Nice Cosmetic - Strong & Sound Usable Condition - Displays Beautifully. Imperfections Noted - It has a Few Light Spots on the Interior. There is a Small Section of the Attached Woven Ring Footed Base - This Can Best Be Seen in The Last 2 Photographs. These Types of Antique American Baskets in This Kind of Condition are Becoming Very Hard to Find These Days. It Would Display Wonderfully as a Centerpiece for Fruits - Vegetables - Flowers - Nuts - Etc. in a Country Kitchen Table Setting.
It Measures Overall Approx. 5 3/8 inches Tall ( Including Handles ) - 4 1/4 inches Tall at Top Rim.
