The brass … Read more Hard to find antique American bowfront cherry Pembroke table with oval top. Very nice table with tapered legs. The brass bail pull is original. Table was made about 1800-1810. Table has pine and chestnut secondary woods. This indicates a small area where this combination was used. As an old time dealer explained to me years ago if you put a pin on the junction of Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut and drew a circle roughly 25 miles in diameter that is the area where this combination of secondary wood was used. The curved ends are and were a step up and the oval top is another step up. The table was refinished years ago. The table is in very good condition. The center of the top is a bit lighter than the leaves but thats because the leaves were never left up. Table is 20" wide by 33" deep and stands 27" tall. The leaves are 10" deep. When the top is open the top measures 33" by 39". A good antique table of exceptional form for a country table. See less
