Exquisite Antique Mid-19th Century French Carved Giltwood Pier Mirror With Beaded Molding, Gold Leaf, & a Portrait Cartouche. This one-of-a-kind pier mirror is surmounted with a carved ribbon crest and a plaster cartouche of a gentleman in bas-relief on the frieze. The lovely aged patina is a mixture of gold leaf over a brick red base with green tinged laurel leaves framing the bottom. The back has vestiges of a red wax seal along with hand forged nails and hardware. The antique glass mirror is in two pieces and has de-silvering in a few spots as is to be expected.
A statement piece in any setting!
