Antique French Henri II style mantel or wall mirror in gorgeous hand carved oak, with outstanding detail. The details reveal it was probably commissioned for an aristocrat’s hunting lodge, circa 1880, and carved in the Black Forest region of Europe, where France, Germany and Switzerland meet. The ornate crown features a stepped and carved, spindle design surrounding a central surmounted carved demonic figure with meticulous details. The full length carved twist columns flank the original double beveled mirror, a superb display of artistic skill in the carvings, circa 1880.
