If you’re on the hunt for elegant and sophisticated outdoor furniture, look no further than Woodard Furniture Company. Founded in 1866 by the Woodard brothers, they’ve accumulated over 150 years of experience in furniture design and manufacturing. Although they originally began as a wood-based company, they later made a shift in 1934 to metal, creating pieces out of wrought iron, aluminum, and all-weather woven upholstery. Today, it is these versatile indoor/outdoor furnishings that continue to carry on the Woodard legacy, both in vintage and newly-made pieces. Using the highest quality materials and a combination of time-tested techniques and high-tech innovations, Woodard Furniture has achieved an unparalleled fusion of durability and beauty. In 1956, they made history as the first manufacturer to construct a sculpted chair without using expensive molds: the Sculptura. The full Sculptura collection included variations on an occasional chair, sofa, ottoman, and even a rocking chair, though the classic armchair remains the most popular. The Sculptura armchair has a modern, graceful form, thoughtfully molded to cradle the human body. Being made with a woven wire frame, it is lightweight and extremely easy to move around. A little over two decades later, the Woodard Furniture Company took another groundbreaking step, with the Arnold Palmer collection, creating the first contemporary casual furniture design to be made of wrought iron. Because of the high attention to resilience, many vintage Woodard Furniture pieces are still in tip-top shape, and can continued to be used for a long time.
