You are looking at the Red Nippon Sento Running Light that was made in Japan by Nippon Sento Co. Ltd. They are a marine supplier that has been providing lighting equipment for ships and airports since 1936.
This light can be used hanging from a ceiling, attached to the ceiling, or used as a post or desk light. In one of the photos, you will see that on the top part of the light there is a small indentation. There is also a knob missing from the lid as well. The red fresnel lens is in great shape.
