A small yet very striking mid century figurative composition, executed in oil onto canvas.

The artist has used the expressive qualities of colour and brushstrokes to render this lively composition presenting a band that features a pianist, a cellist and a violinist. A rich and saturated colour palette has been used, and distinct and bold brushstrokes have been executed in an invigorating manner, imbuing the painting with energy and a beautiful light textural quality.

This oil on canvas is housed in an ornate gilt frame that adds character to the piece. The painting has some craquelure present but the paint layer is overall stable. The frame has some cracks and losses, as shown in the photos.
