This is for an Antique Solid Gilt Bronze French Jardiniere. This piece is circa 1850 (19th Century). This was produced by hand and us decorated with handles that are Art Nouveau / Victorian styled cherubs, leaves and scrolls through out the entire piece. There is a liner made from tin and is not removable. This piece is very unique in that it is not a replica but also is large and very heavy.
The planter measures: 6.5 inches tall x 15.5 inches long x 9 inches wide. The liner on the inside measures: 3 inches tall x 11 inches wide x 6 inches deep. This piece is in wonderful condition and will make for a stunning centerpiece on a dining table to side table perhaps holding fresh flowers, decorative objects to an artificial arrangement. The piece is polished.
This wonderful piece of French history is marked on the base with the following:
De La Rue (meaning: "Of the Street")
98 R. Vieille Du Temple (The address - street name and number of the original crafter was located - This is now a Clothing Store - Le Mont St Michel)
BD 627 (Would think that this is either the pattern number and perhaps a date.)
The address above is a tourist destination now for very high end clothing stores, to bakeries to art shops and museums all within the historic buildings.
Majority of my items for sale are pre-loved treasures that were most likely purchased at a local Estate Sale or a local resale shop in Arizona. I may or may not know details but do spend time researching information to provide details the best I can and to pass along fair prices.
* I take all my own pictures in my home and as such try and get all the colors as true to correct as possible.
* The items in the pictures are the exact item you will be receiving, unless I have multiple of the same item and the quality will be the exact same as the ones pictured.
* I take great care in packaging items correctly and shipping on time. I show any imperfections I can in the pictures.
* Assume items are preloved and or vintage and such can have its own idiosyncrasies due to age alone and normal wear and tear.
* Please contact me if you have specific questions.
Thank you for looking!!
